organisation established by the Uganda Tourist Board Statute 1994. The Board’s
mandate is to promote and popularise Uganda as a viable holiday destination
both locally and internationally in order to:
Increase
the contribution of tourism earnings and GDP
Improve
Uganda’s competitiveness as an international tourism destination
Increase
Uganda’s share of Africa’s and World tourism market.
Summary: The incumbent will be in charge of driving
Organizational vehicles, ensuring their safety and maintenance
Duties and Responsibilities:
The
incumbent should be keeping the assigned vehicles free from damage and in good
running condition.
Ensuring
that the vehicle is clean consistently.
Ensuring
that the vehicle is always parked in a proper and safe condition prior and
during use, and accept responsibility to report any damage or mechanical
malfunctions that exist.
Responsible
for driving the vehicle as instructed.
Ensuring
the safety of its passengers and contents
In
charge of preparing monthly and periodic reports on vehicle status and
recommendations for repair and maintenance.
Complying
with Traffic Regulations and procedures.
Keeping
and having safe custody of the vehicle documents and keys.
Ensuring
that the vehicle is fuelled at all times, have correct levels of lubricants and
that tyres have the recommended pressure level at all times.
Performing
any other official duties assigned by their supervisor from time to time and any
other legible responsibility as assigned to them by their superiors.
Skills and Experience:
The
ideal candidate must be a Ugandan who holds either O level or A level
Certificate with at least 4 passes at O level, one of which must be in English.
Hold
a valid Driving Permit minimum class CM
A
minimum of eight years’ accident free proven experience with a reputable
Organization.
A
copy of a Certificate of good conduct is required
Possession
of defensive driving certificate is an added advantage
Ability
to lead a team
Excellent
interpersonal skills
