Job Summary: 
The Learning and Development Manager will be responsible for the
oversight, coordination and control of the learning and development
infrastructure of the Bank to build the knowledge and skill base required to
support sustained organizational effectiveness and achievement of the Bank’s
goals.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
·        
Responsible
for designing, implementing and evaluating the annual training plan and the
corresponding budget in relation to the Bank’s strategic intent;
·        
Work
closely with key stakeholders across the Bank to conduct Training Needs
Analysis at the organizational, task and individual levels to derive the
learning needs of the Bank in relation to its strategic intent;
·        
Plan
and organize the logistics of all training events, and take full responsibility
for the training-centre of the Bank and all its facilities;
·        
Actively
coordinate orientation programmes, and initiative new staff into the culture
and organization of the Bank;
·        
Responsible
for documenting all training information and data of the Bank, and maintain an
up-to-date record of the same in the HRIS, whilst providing regular management
reports on training activities;
·        
Identify,
select and manage relationships with internal and external training providers
to deliver training solutions to acceptable standards;
·        
Manage
the performance management process and provide oversight for performance
planning, monitoring and coaching, appraisal & quality control and
management of under-performance.
·        
Oversee
the performance management process in coordination with the leadership team of
the Bank to ensure that the performance management activities are conducted
within the Bank’s policy guidelines and support the goals of the Bank.  This relates to oversight of performance
planning, monitoring and coaching, appraisal & quality control and
management of under-performance.
·        
The
job holder will work in liaison with internal experts and develop internal
training capacity and resources to meet specific training needs that can be
dealt with from within;
·        
Collaborate
with key stakeholders in designing and implementing leadership development
programs of the Bank and support a pipeline of future leaders.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:                      
·        
The
Bank of Africa Learning and Development Manager should possess a Bachelor’s
Degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Psychology, Business or other
related field
·        
At
least four years’ experience in learning and development, training, capacity
building and such related areas
·        
Excellent
track record in designing, coordinating, delivering and evaluating
organization-wide training solutions
·        
Good
grasp of the training process and understanding of key concepts and trends in
managing learning
·        
Good
grasp of performance management and general Human Resources Management
knowledge
·        
Excellent
analytical skills, strategic and business acumen, along with good consulting
skills
·        
Good
training and coaching skills
·        
Excellent
presentation, verbal and written communication skills
·        
Excellent
planning, organization and follow up skills
·        
Project
management skills
·        
Good
decision-making, negotiation and problem solving skills
·        
Good
teamwork and interpersonal skills, with ability to influence key people inside
and outside the Bank
·        
Ability
to work under pressure, and in fast paced and results driven environment
