Brand Manager Job Opportunity – Longhorn Publishers

Title:  Brand Manager
Organisation: Longhorn Publishers
  Kampala, Uganda
Longhorn Publishers, a leading firm with
a strong presence in Eastern Africa region whose core business is publishing
and distributing educational and leisure publications.
Duties and Responsibilities:  
  • In charge
    of preparing budgets and sales forecast for the brand to meet company
    goals and objectives.
  • Responsible
    for the development and implementation of sales promotion strategies for
    the brand to ensure growth in revenue and market share.
  • In charge
    of scouting for diversification and innovative investment projects that
    support and ensuring growth of the brand.
  • Overseeing and
    supervising the Regional Sales coordinators to ensure optimal market and
    sales coverage.
  • In charge
    of identifying and developing new markets for the brand products so as to
    increase the brand’s market share and sales volume.
  • Responsible
    for supervising credit management and debt collection.
  • Setting and
    assessing standards of sales teams’ performance to improve efficiency.
  • In charge of
    preparing and monitoring the execution of sales promotion and marketing
    plans in Uganda.
  • Determining,
    in consultation with others the selling price of products to ensure
    competitiveness and profitability.
  • In charge
    of recording and transmitting information of customer complaints and
    resolving disputes regarding sales and service.
  • Requisitioning
    for promotional materials, new book information and support activities to
    enhance product and corporate brand.
  • Appraising
    the direct reports as per the company’s policy and guidelines
  • In charge
    of collecting and analysing market trends and customer behaviour to inform
    decision making.  
Skills and Experience:  
  • The applicant
    should preferably hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education or a Business
    related field. A Diploma in Sales and Marketing will be an added
  • At least five
    years’ experience in the Publishing industry or teaching service.
  • Outstanding
    needs analysis, positioning, business justification and closing skills.
  • Superior presentation
  • Excellent oral
    and written communication skills.
  • High
    business acumen
  • Excellent negotiation
