Center (IFDC) is a public international organization (PIO) governed by an
international board of directors with representation from developed and
developing nations. The non-profit center focuses on increasing and sustaining
food and agricultural productivity in developing countries through the
development and transfer of effective and environmentally sound crop nutrient
technology and agribusiness expertise.
About DGIS CATALIST Project:
IFDC is implementing a 4-year
CATALIST-Uganda Project, funded by DGIS through the Embassy of the Kingdom of
the Netherlands, Kampala. The project aims to enable over 110,000 Uganda
smallholder farm families to produce and market potatoes, cassava, rice,
soybean and sunflower on a commercial scale.
Job Summary: The Administration and Accounts Assistant
will support the Project through the provision of administrative and financial
management support for the project regional office. The incumbent will be
responsible for general administrative and logistical support necessary within
the project, ensuring that funds are spent compliantly and reasonable within
the limits of pre-agreed budgets.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
·        
In
charge of preparing regional cash flow projections and manage petty cash
·        
Ensure
office expenses paid and regional staff advances are reconciled
·        
Ensure
adequate resources are available for office operations
·        
Mentor
and supervise the Office Attendant
·        
Actively
monitor and supervise office security
·        
Procure
office supplies and determine supply needs
·        
Maintain
and manage asset/inventory register, administrative files and records
·        
Provide
logistical support to program staff including arranging for workshops
·        
Regularly
review financial reports and accountabilities of partners.
·        
Provide
on-the-job support to grantees and train in accounting and required reporting.
·        
Perform
any other duties as may be assigned
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
·        
The
ideal candidate should preferably hold a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce,
Business Administration, finance and accounting. A qualification in a
professional accounting course will be an added advantage
·        
A
minimum of three years’ experience in a similar position with an international
organization
·        
Highly
motivated, energetic, independent self-starter with strong communication skills
·        
Excellent
analytical skills
·        
Computer
literacy i.e. Proficiency in MS office (Word/Excel)
·        
Demonstrate
strong proficiency in accounting software packages
·        
Excellent
analytical, problem solving, time management and organizational skills
·        
Ability
to work under pressure, deliver quality results and meet deadlines
·        
Honesty
and integrity
·        
Ability
to work with people from different nationalities and backgrounds
·        
Team
player, flexible and adaptable to different work condition
