and management assistance in agribusiness, financial services, enterprise
development, community development and food security in order to promote
broad-based economic growth and vibrant civil society. ACDI/VOCA currently has
approximately 60 projects in 30 countries and total revenues of $173 million.
About USAID FtF Project:
ACDI / VOCA will implement an
anticipated large, multi-year USAID-funded project, the Feed the Future Uganda
Producer Organizations Activity Project. Together with local and international
partners and in support of USAID/Uganda’s Feed the Future (FtF) initiatives,
ACDI/ VOCA’s program will work to strengthen the governance, management, service
delivery and local level advocacy capacities of producer organizations (POs)
within the FtF zone of influence in order to;
1)     
Increase
the involvement of POs in business-oriented activities along the value chains
2)    
Improve
PO governance and management structures that efficiently and effectively
provide services responsive to the needs of their members
3)    
Improve
the agricultural enabling environment at the local government level.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities: 
  • Provide
    the agribusiness technical strategy and support for the entire project,
    working closely with consortium partners.
  • Work
    closely with private sector organizations to establish linkages between
    private sector companies and producer organizations that strengthen the
    selected agricultural value chains. Identify trainings and techniques for
    selected agricultural products that improve small holder farmers yields,
    product quality and food security.
  • Work
    closely between producer organizations and financial institutions to
    improve smallholder farmers’ access to financial services.
  • Provide
    quarterly reports and updates on various field, donor and private sector
    activities.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The
    applicant should preferably hold a Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness
    Management, agricultural economics, or other relevant field (a Diploma in
    a relevant field and an additional five years of experience could be
    substituted for a degree).
  • A
    minimum of five years’ experience in Program Management, Agribusiness or
    Agricultural Development Activities, with a focus on supporting Producer
    Organizations to access agricultural inputs, advisory and business
    development services, and output markets.
  • Excellent
    track record of achieving results in private sector-led development
    activities, preferably in agriculture.
  • Demonstrated
    high-level technical, analytical, interpersonal skills and ability to meet
    tight deadlines with logical analyses and clear presentation.
