Sanitation Collaborative Council (WSSCC) Uganda Sanitation Fund (USF)
receives funding from UNOPS/WSSCC to support the Uganda Sanitation Fund (USF)
Programme. The USF overall objective is to contribute to reduction of morbidity
and mortality rates through improved sanitation and hygiene with a focus on
building sustainable and improved sanitation and hygiene facilities, stopping
open defecation and promoting handwashing with soap. The programme is
implemented in 30 districts, largely located in the Teso, Lango and West Nile
regions and is managed by the Ministry of Health.
leadership and technical oversight for the overall management of the Uganda
Sanitation Fund (USF) programme. .
Responsibilities:
- Actively
coordinate the preparation of work plans and budgets for the program. - Oversight
and monitoring implementing of program outputs against set targets
including management of USF financing modalities. Submission of program
reports and proposals for review of the program - Regularly
review district financial and technical reporting and advise on
disbursement of funds to districts. - Coordination
of program procurement activities Coordination of capacity development
activities for sub-grantees (districts) and program employees for
effective and efficient implementation of the programme. - In
charge of the design of strategies for improved programme implementation. - Coordination
of documentation of program activities and sharing of experiences. - Mentoring
and supervision of program employees - Represent
the program in sanitation- working groups, dialogue with donors, and
thematic working groups.
Experience:
- The
Programme Manager should hold a Bachelor of Environmental Health science
Degree from a recognised institution with a Master’s Degree in Public
Health or Environmental Health Sciences. Hold a Diploma in Public
Administration, Human Resource Management, Financial Management or Project
Planning & Management - At
least ten years’ working experience, three of which should be in a
management position in an established organisation. - At
least a year’s experience in managing donor funded projects - Excellent
interpersonal and communication skills.
Sanitation Fund/ Environmental Health Division or sub grantees need not to
