Job Summary: The Procurement Assistant will technically
support the preparation, management and contracting of a variety of goods,
works and services of UNATU. The incumbent will also support Quality Assurance
functions related to procurement and contracting of services and participate in
all procurements undertaken at UNATU.

Key Duties and
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Offer
support to UNATU and assist management in operations and procurement
related functions. - The
incumbent will assess the compliance to procurement and development of
guidelines for goods, works and services procured for UNATU. - Technically
support in the preparation and implementation of UNATU’s procurement plan. - Render
support in the preparation of tender documents for the procurement of
goods, works & services. - Support
UNATU Management and the Contracts Committee to review procurement
requests for completeness, adequacy and clarity of tender documents. - In
charge of implementing procurement and contracting transactions to
purchase goods, works and services at the best value; - Take
pre-emptive action on operational, administrative and procedural issues of
tenders submitted by suppliers and service providers; - Prepare
all necessary procurement management reports; - The
Procurement Assistant should demonstrate professional behavior, personal
ethics, integrity and transparency in dealing with clients and service
providers; - Build
and mentor colleagues by sharing knowledge ‘in procurement procedures; - Ensure
that procurement procedures and guidelines are harmonized in the UNATU
Procurement Manual. - Perform
any other task related to the procurement function which could be
requested by UNATU management & Contracts Committee.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
Experience:
- The
applicant should preferably hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement and
Logistics management or in a related field. - Three
or more years’ experience in a business environment in procurement
services either public or private sector or international organizations. - Driving
skills with a valid driving permit is an added advantage - Computer
literacy skills
Age: Below 50 years.
