Key Duties and
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- The
incumbent will drive IOM office vehicle(s) in a manner which fully adheres
to the laws of Uganda, which provides safety and security to IOM staff, is
considerate to other road users and which preserves the condition of the
vehicle. - Ensure
absolute adherence to IOM’s rules and regulations in respect to the use of
vehicles including informing management of any unauthorized use of the
vehicles, theft or misuse of fuel, theft of car parts or other items kept
in the car. - Oversee
the day-to-day maintenance of the vehicle to ensure roadworthiness of the
vehicles. This includes daily check of tyres, brakes, engine oil, fan belt
etc. - Perform
minor repairs and ensure that the vehicles are kept clean. - Ensure
that the vehicles undertake regular service intervals. - Make
sure the vehicles always have full tank prior to departure for field
trips. - Find
the most direct routing over the best available roads to the destinations. - Ensure
that the IOM vehicle(s) is used only for official/authorised business,
reporting any abuse of the vehicle by other IOM staff members (or other
person) to the supervisor AND to the Chief of Mission - Ensure
daily cleaning of IOM vehicle(s) of both exterior and interior. - Adhere
to obligatory filling of the vehicle log sheet each day. - Maintain
a high degree of confidentiality regarding discussion overheard while in
the vehicle or when undertaking confidential tasks allocated by a relevant
authority - Collect
and deliver mail / documents as assigned by relevant authority. - Observe
traffic rules and regulations as well as IOM’s regulations in case of
involvement of in a traffic accident. - Perform
any other duties as assigned by the Transit Manager/ Logistics Assistant.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
Experience:
- The
applicants for the International Organization for Migration IOM Driver
should hold a high school diploma - At
least two years’ driving experience and a valid driving permit. - Mechanical
knowledge is an added advantage - Languages: Proficiency in both spoken and
written English is mandatory. Fluency in local languages is an added
advantage.
