Summary: The Sales and Distribution Manager will actively support the company’s operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage the transportation of goods from the
factory to the agents and consumers.
Regularly review and approve purchase orders in
line with the Company policies and procedures.
Review operational records and reports to project
sales and determine profitability.
Guide dealers and distributors on policies and
operating procedures to ensure functional effectiveness of business.
Manage a team of sales & account executives in
meeting daily and monthly targets.
Attend local trade shows & exhibitions –
working with the Marketing team on new product launches and variety of other market
communications initiatives
Maintains sales volume, product mix, and selling
price by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic
indicators, and competitors.
In charge of monitoring and management of stock
levels, and delivery times of the different products.
In charge of the coordination and control of the
order cycle. The incumbent would also be expected to monitor quality, quantity,
cost and efficiency of the movement and storage of goods.
Building and growing working relationships with
new retailers and enhancing existing relationships to maximize sales &
margin returns.
Skills and Experience:
The Sales and Distribution Manager should hold a University
degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Commerce, Economics or related
field from a recognized institution. Possession of a Master’s or professional
qualification in the same area would be an added advantage.
At least five years’ managerial experience in
leading a Sales & Distribution function for a brand or range of products.
Past experience of managing teams is highly
desirable, including the ability to carry out personnel evaluations, set
performance targets, engage new employees and identify and possibly deliver
training.
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
Working knowledge of Microsoft office and relevant
industry standards and practices.
Possess the ability to understand competitive
analysis and be a knowledge base for the product range.
Excellent communication skills are required,
including both verbal and written presentation skills.
Ability to map all the retailers by name, type,
number of stores etc.
