Job Title:   Project Manager

Reports to: Senior
Manager-Projects Implementation

telecommunications Company in Uganda, providing payphone, fixed lines,
fax/data, internet and mobile services.
Job Summary: The Project
will oversee the technical (e.g. Radio & planning Optimization, New Site
build, site upgrades) projects implementation cycle. In addition, the position
is entrusted with ensuring workmanship quality.
Key
Duties and Responsibilities: 
·        
Works closely with contractors regarding current
and forthcoming projects
·        
In charge of project execution process management
·        
Work closely with project stakeholders in project
delivery
·        
Liaise with different sections/ departments in
project execution
·        
Prepare project plans, Risk assessment and Project
requests
·        
In charge of Quality Assurance
·        
Project handover and acceptance from contractors
·        
Ensure timely project reporting i.e. weekly,
monthly, etc.
·        
Ensure post project appraisal is conducted
·        
Manage Project resource management
·        
Responsible for project contractor management
·        
Ensure handover of all completed Projects to the
respective internal customers
·        
Prepare project timelines with fully
interdependence in the project activities
·        
Ensuring all projects follow customer centricity
guidelines
·        
Properly Manage Project risks
·        
Properly Manage Project Procurement
·        
Properly Manage Project Contracts
·        
Ensure all completed projects are capitalized
within the month of completion.
Qualifications,
Skills and Experience: 
·        
The ideal candidate for the MTN career placement
should hold a BSC Degree in Engineering/ Project management or any other
relevant University Degree
·        
Possession of a Post graduate Diploma in Project
Management or recognized Certification in Project management is added advantage
·        
At least five years’ experience in Radio &
Planning Optimization
·        
Five or more years’ experience in site build
implementation
·        
Prior project management exposure with network
roll out
·        
Further qualifications in Contract management,
Tender process or Project management are desired
·        
Computer literacy skills with emphasis on project
management packages MS project or Enterprise system
·        
Ability to work long hours if necessary
·        
Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to
take Initiative
·        
Flexibility to travel extensively within Uganda
·        
Able to work under pressure
·        
Possess good communication skills
