Nonprofit Chore (ANCHOR) envisages and is committed towards a secure and
economically empowered East and Central African Region free of human
trafficking and forced labor. Current activities include support to east and
central African partners towards ending human trafficking & poverty through:
research and advocacy, holistic reintegration and NGO capacity building.
Summary: The Programs Officer will be responsible for the designing and
execution of new program initiatives; supporting grants sourcing; leading
research projects; and building the capacity of sub grantee partners.
Duties and Responsibilities:
In charge of designing program-level M&E
systems that inform and improve each program while feeding into the broader
ANCHOR and donor level M&E decision-making tools.
Support program management staff of beneficiary
partner organizations to ensure that DM&E results are used to strengthen
existing programming
Design, conduct, and report on activities from program
needs assessments, execution, and phase out in new programs development.
Steer the development of departmental strategy,
activity work plans, and budgets.
Support the Head of Office (HoO) Support in grants
sourcing and donor relationship management.
Support in general team and office management from
time to time as requested by the HoO
Develop plans and build the capacity of key team
members to practice sound project design monitoring and evaluation, completion
of assessments and production of analytical reports.
Offer technical support for project performance
monitoring, data validations, planning, quality controls, accountability
mechanisms, results reporting, assessments and evaluations;
Supervise program research undertakings, as well
as compile key findings to feed into advocacy plans.
Skills and Experience:
The applicant should preferably hold a Bachelor’s
degree in Project Planning, M&E, Development, Social Sciences, or other
core field.
Past experience in conducting program research and
writing fundable project proposals
Significant experience in monitoring and
evaluating community development projects in conflict zones
Familiar knowledge and understanding of child/human
trafficking in the region is an added advantage
Skills in designing and establishing comprehensive
M&E systems, processes and procedures
Impact assessments/analysis, information/data
gathering, and quantitative analysis
The ideal candidate should be a highly passionate
and knowledgeable individual able to work with very limited supervision and
deliver on program and management needs of ANCHOR.
Strong background in strengthening community
resilience programing through economic and psychosocial reintegration is
preferred
Strong in presentation, training and communication
skills
Past experience working in a cross-cultural
setting
Familiarity with Micro Soft office suite
Excellent verbal and written English language
skills.
