Systems for Treating AIDS Nationally (SUSTAIN) Project
global company founded in the United States in 1965 dedicated to improving the
quality of health care, social services, and health education worldwide. With a
non-profit affiliate, the Center for Human Services (CHS), URC manages projects
in over 45 countries, including the United States. URC provides a range of
technical assistance to strengthen health and social systems and service
quality by empowering communities and health workers to identify and scale up
locally appropriate solutions to critical problems.
US-based public health organization working in Uganda since 2005, is
implementing the USAID-funded Strengthening Uganda’s Systems for Treating AIDS
Nationally (SUSTAIN) project. The USAID SUSTAIN Project ending December 2016
supports delivery of quality HIV prevention, treatment, care and laboratory
services at selected regional referral and general hospitals.
Oversee
the implementation of DTRA working closely with CH2M the prime contractor to
the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Defense Threat Reduction Agency’s (DTRA)
Cooperative Biological Engagement Program (CBEP) activities (including
procurement & logistics, trainings, and office management)
Actively
take part in the preparation of budgets for the approved Scope of work at a
given period.
Maintain
updated trackers and logs for procurement, budgets, invoices, HR, distribution
and renovations works on the project.
In
charge of preparing and submitting biweekly and monthly progress reports on the
DTRA project for different stakeholders.
Maintain
an active list of all the participating partners and individuals including both
email and telephone contacts at the minimum for the project.
Ensure
that Communication with stakeholders is done at intervals agreed within the scope
of work and the supervisor (URC, CH2M, MOH, UVRI and other facilities)
Schedule
conference calls with partners and URC- headquarters staff Including taking
notes during the conference calls and following up the key action points that
will arise
Update
and maintain electronic and paper files of program communications, materials,
and site specific documents.
Participate
in business development activities
Perform
any other duties as assigned by your supervisor or designee.
The
ideal candidate for the USAID SUSTAIN Program Officer vacancy should hold a a Bachelor’s
Degree, preferably in Business Administration
At
least three years of project coordination experience, preferred experience with
USG-funded programs
Excellent
organizational skills and attention to detail, ability to prioritize and manage
multiple tasks
Excellent
written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
Experience
in witting proposals will be an added advantage
Computer
literacy skills i.e. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel,
Outlook)
