often referred to as Brookside Dairies, is a dairy processing company in Kenya,
the largest economy in the East African Community. Brookside Dairies was
established in 1993 by members of the Jomo Kenyatta Family, including his son
Uhuru Kenyatta, who was elected President of Kenya in 2013. In 2009, the
Gulf-area-based private equity firm Abraaj Capital paid US$18.7 million for 10
percent shareholding in the business. In 2014, French yoghurt maker Danone paid
an undisclosed sum to acquire a 40 percent stake in Brookside. Beginning in
2013, Brookside has expanded by buying stakes in rival milk processing plants
in Kenya, Ethiopia, Nigeria, and Uganda. In Uganda, they partly own a
subsidiary, Sameer Agriculture and Livestock Limited.

Key Duties and
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Responsible
for the transport function for raw milk and finished goods - Tendering
transport business to achieve optimal Cost per litre - Ensure
timely dispatch of finished goods to customers as per Company policy - The
Logistics Manager will implement and continually monitor transport
tracking system - Oversee
all Brookside logistics i.e. imports and exports matters - In
charge of the development and implementation of the transport and
logistics budget - Ensure
strict monitoring of the repairs and maintenance - Ensure
optimal utilization of the company and third party fleet
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
Experience:
- The
applicant must be in possession of a University Degree in business
management - A
minimum of three or more years’ experience in logistics - Working
knowledge in fleet management will be added advantage - Possess
the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines - Strong
leadership and management skills - Be
a good team player
