Nonprofit Chore (ANCHOR)
Office
Nonprofit Chore (ANCHOR) envisages and is committed towards a secure and
economically empowered East and Central African Region free of human
trafficking and forced labor. Current activities include support to east and
central African partners towards ending human trafficking & poverty
through: research and advocacy, holistic reintegration and NGO capacity
building.
Summary: The Logistics Assistant will be
responsible for delivering on procurement, office security, and transport
management needs of ANCHOR.
Duties and Responsibilities:
In
charge of fleet control systems: enforcing use of approved gate pass for each
vehicle or asset movement.
In
charge of the preparation of logistics reporting tools: including monthly
procurement plan; weekly procurement tracking report; weekly fleet plan; fleet
tracking and monthly logistics reports.
Ensure
procurement efficiency: Ensure improved procurement efficiency by
tracking value for money, competitiveness and fairness, procurement lead-times,
service quality, and cost. Initiate and facilitate timely procurement decision
meetings, and written endorsements for onward execution.
Policies: Lead performance
and compliance of existing departmental policies and review requests.
Logistics
training/orientation pack: Develop and put into practice orientation and training
packages for internal and partner staff teams.
Asset
disposal: Provide technical leadership during asset disposal according to policy.
Operational
plan and budgeting: Steer the development of departmental strategies,
activity work plans and budgets. Support partner teams in procurement planning
and implementation.
Audit
support: Facilitate the annual audit process through provision of necessary documents
and transportation of audit field teams.
Office
Security: Lead the establishment and monitoring of personnel and property security
needs.
Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate should preferably hold a
Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Logistics, or other core field.
Past experience leading complex procurements
including infrastructure projects and emergency needs.
Prior experience in coordinating road and air
transport in remote locations.
Skills in designing and implementing procurement
tracking tools
Skills in designing and managing fleet tracking
systems and management
Skills in designing and monitoring comprehensive
security systems, processes and procedures
Procurement contract management and administration
skills
Strong presentation, training and communication
skills
Past experience working in a cross-cultural
setting
Familiarity with Micro Soft office suite
Excellent verbal and written English language
skills.
