developing, implementing and coordinate a programming strategy for the Radio
Stations and achieve high audience ratings by growing them to “most preferred
stations” in Uganda so to maximise value from advertising revenue. The
incumbent will also develop, implement and continuously review the Radio sales
strategy that will grow Advertising revenue as well as market share through a
well-trained and highly motivated team
Responsibilities:
- Conveys
a comprehensive programming strategy to enable the Radio stations to grow
and become Market leaders - Offer
leadership to staff to achieve the most cost effective accomplishment of
news, entertainment, promotions and presentation aspects of MPL radio
stations- KFM & Dembe FM, and to maintain a highly effective and
motivated workforce - Responsible
for the P&L for the radio stations by nurturing viable relationships
with our business partners to
translate into achievement of revenue goals/targets - Continually
gather and assess relevant market intelligence from the trade to inform
the quality of decisions. - The
incumbent will forecast annual, quarterly and monthly revenue streams and
sets performance goals for self and the team accordingly. - Directs
research on the industry activities and utilizes the results to enhance
the stations’ ratings - Stays
abreast of the best industry practices, competition activities and trends
that may affect programming and market share and comes up with plans to
neutralize them - Determines
on a continuing basis the manpower requirements of MPL stations, sources
new and develops the existing talent through innovative radio personality training
programmes - Responsible
for revenue growth of the radio stations by effectively manage the radio
commercial team to sign off orders that run within the agreed company
structures like credit period & discount levels.
- The
ideal candidate for the Head of Radio career opportunity should hold a
Bachelor of degree in a Business related field from an accredited
University - A
Diploma in Mass Communication and an MBA would be an added advantage - A
minimum of ten years’ media working experience with 2 years at senior
management level High commercial/ business acumen with proven people
management skills - Possess
