Technology (UNCST)
for Science and Technology (UNCST) is a statutory organization mandated
facilitate and coordinate the development and implementation of policies and
strategies for integrating Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) into the
national development process. UNCST was
established by CAP 209, under the Ministry of Finance Planning and Economic
Development.
Responsibilities:
- The
Trainee (Research Registration & Management) will regularly receive
and register applications for permission to conduct research in Uganda; - Responsible
for the organization and appropriate filing of research documents; - Enter
research applications into the research registration database; - Produce
monthly research registration reports; - Dispatch
research permits to researchers; - Perform
any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Experience:
- The
ideal candidate for the Science Officer – Trainee (Research Registration
& Management) Job placement should hold a Bachelor’s degree in social
sciences, statistics, physical, natural or life sciences; - At
least two years’ experience in a busy work environment - Previous
experience in the same field is an added advantage - Possess
the ability to work with a broad range of stakeholders and partners; - Excellent
communication and strong analytical skills. - High
degree of integrity and commitment - Possess
the ability to work independently and in a multi-cultural environment - Highly
computer literate
