About US:
The Uganda National Council
for Science and Technology (UNCST) is a statutory organization mandated
facilitate and coordinate the development and implementation of policies and
strategies for integrating Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) into the
national development process.  UNCST was
established by CAP 209, under the Ministry of Finance Planning and Economic
Development.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities: 
  • Oversee
    and maintain the front desk / reception in presentable order at all times;
  • Cordially
    answer and forward telephone calls as appropriate;
  • Receive
    and direct visitors as appropriate;
  • Take
    a complete message of person, contacts, and reasons for visit and
    necessary action, if the intended employee is not available to receive the
    visitor;
  • The
    Front Office receptionist will avail and maintain a visitor’s book at the
    reception for signing by appropriate visitors;
  • Offer
    a register of received messages, and distribute all messages received to
    the designated persons;
  • Maintain
    and continually update a database of UNCST contact people and
    organizations with names, phone numbers (office and home where appropriate
    and available), mailing address and physical location and any other
    available appropriate data;
  • The
    Administrative Assistant (Front Desk Management) will perform any other
    duties as assigned by the supervisor from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • All
    applicants for the Administrative Assistant (Front Desk Management) should
    hold a Bachelor’s degree in Secretarial Studies, Business Administration,
    Office Management and any other related qualifications
  • Two
    years of administrative experience
  • Excellent
    communication and strong analytical skills
  • Possess
    excellent interpersonal skills
  • High
    degree of integrity and commitment
  • Possess
    the ability to work independently and in a multi-cultural environment
  • Highly
    computer literate
Age: less than 26 years
