The Uganda National Council
for Science and Technology (UNCST) is a statutory organization mandated
facilitate and coordinate the development and implementation of policies and
strategies for integrating Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) into the
national development process.  UNCST was
established by CAP 209, under the Ministry of Finance Planning and Economic
Development.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities: 
  • The
    incumbent will primarily receive all Office supplies and issue the GRNs,
    record them on stock cards and other stores records.
  • Update
    and maintain inventory of stationary and office supplies.
  • Responsible
    for the distribution of stationary, office supplies and equipment as
    authorized.
  • Guide
    management on stock items and stock level.
  • Updating
    the stock cards/records.
  • Maintain
    an adequate order levels to ensure that all necessary store and office
    supplies are available as needed.
  • Receive
    and inspect delivery of new stock and ensuring that the stock delivered
    matches with the delivery at all times.
  • In
    charge of recording the deliveries in the goods received notebook.
  • Maintain
    stores records and documentation.
  • Physically
    checking and counting of materials periodically.
  • Carry
    out vendor evaluation/rating.
  • Guide
    management on Stores best practices.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The
    ideal candidate for the Administrative Assistant (Logistics) job placement
    should hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement, BBA, or B.Com specializing
    in either Logistics or Stores management
  • Highly
    flexible and Innovative
  • At
    least two years’ experience in the same field
  • Proficient
    in the use of MS Excel and Word
  • High
    degree of integrity and commitment
  • Possess
    the ability to work independently and in a multi-cultural environment
  • Highly
    computer literate
Age: less than 35 years
