Job Title:    Driver

Uganda National Teachers’
Union (UNATU) exists to promote and protect the social, intellectual, economic
and professional interests of its members/teachers as a per-requisite to
enhancing the status of teaching profession.
Job Summary:  The
Driver will be in charge of operating the UNATU’s motor vehicles and carrying
out courier functions.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities: 
  • The
    incumbent will be tasked with transporting employees, members and other
    authorized  persons in accordance
    with UNATU Vehicle control policy and Road Safety Act;
  • Carry
    out regular preventive maintenance and basic repairs in order to keep the
    vehicle in good mechanical and functional conditions;
  • Maintain
    documentation for administrative use such as mileage, fuel usage and trip
    authorization tracking information;
  • Provide
    all reasonable measures to protect the vehicle from theft or damage;
  • Updating
    and maintaining a system for tracking vehicle service and updating as
    appropriate;
  • Carry
    out any other duties assigned to him/her by the relevant authorities from
    time to time.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The
    ideal candidate for the UNATU Driver Job should hold an Ordinary Level
    Certificate with credits in Mathematics and English.
  • Possess
    a clean and valid driving permit class B, CM and DL.
  • Possession
    of a certificate in defensive driving will be an added advantage.
  • A
    minimum of five or more years of practical and progressive experience in
    similar role in a reputable organization
  • Age:  Below 50 years.
