Job Summary: The Deputy
Managing Director – NIC General Business will serve as a thought partner to the
Managing Director. The incumbent will be responsible for developing,
implementing and managing short, medium and long-term strategies that will
ensure the continued growth and profitability of the company.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Build
and maintain strong client relationships and market the company. - Identify
best practices and improve internal systems. - Work
closely with the MD in the essential internal leadership activities - Structure
and lead teams to deliver outstanding work - Oversee
the overall business development strategies - In
charge of designing the strategic plan and business plan. - Ensure
the company complies with the regulatory requirements - Perform
any other duties as assigned by the Managing Director or his designate
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:
Experience:
- The
applicant should preferably hold a good first degree in the field of
Management, Economics, Insurance, Law, Finance or related discipline, from
a reputable University. Possession of an MBA or any other higher degree
will be an added advantage. - At
least ten years post-qualification experience including five years’
cognate experience at senior management level in an insurance firm /
enterprise. - Excellent
relationship management and strategic networking skills in the context of
insurance business, - Excellent
communication and interpersonal skills - Excellent
leadership, negotiation, marketing, planning and organization skills. - Proficiency
in English language as the official language spoken in Uganda.

- Demonstrates
cooperation and tact when dealing with others and able to build a strong
team - Demonstrates
strong marketing skills. - Self-starter,
creative and innovative - Willingly
adjusts to new situations and learns new material quickly - Delivers
against timelines and ability to work under pressure - Track
