migration issues, to assist in the search for practical solutions to migration

refugees and internally displaced people. Since 1988, IOM Uganda mission
performs all of its interventions with the specific mandate to work globally
with migration related issues. We are committed to the principle that humane

government of Uganda, NGOs and UN agencies and receives support from donor
governments and UN funds.
Job Summary: The IOM Administration/ Finance Clerk will support
the mission by providing support in the clinical assessment of the USA, Canada,
Australia and UK visa applicants, which will be conducted in the framework of
the receiving countries protocols.
Key Duties and
Responsibilities: 
  • Support
    in overall administrative and financial support of the Migration Health
    Assessment Centre.
  • The
    clerk will receive all payments from medical self payers and file daily
    returns to the Senior Admin./Finance Assistant for verifications and
    submission to main cashier at Admin./Finance department
  • Regularly
    check and make photocopy of bank deposit slip (or other proof of payment).
    Regularly submit these photocopies to the administrative/finance officer.
  • In
    charge of initiating payment requests for service providers and monitor
    payments for vendors.
  • Keenly
    verify invoices and ascertain that the equipment, supplies or services
    they refer to were duly received or provided before proceeding with
    payment requests.
  • Ensure
    payment to suppliers and staff members are effected after obtaining
    appropriate approvals and ensure that vouchers have proper WBS
  • Perform
    any other duty within the incumbent’s capabilities as assigned by the
    Supervisors.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
  • The
    applicants for the IOM Administration/
    Finance Clerk vacancy should hold a High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At
    least three years of relevant working experience in International
    Organizations or NGOs.
  • Computer
    literacy i.e. Proficient in Microsoft Windows and Office.
  • Proficient
    in both written and spoken English.
