Systems for Treating AIDS Nationally (SUSTAIN) Project

Center for Human Services (CHS), URC manages projects in over 45 countries,
including the United States.
US-based public health organization working in Uganda since 2005, is
implementing the USAID-funded Strengthening Uganda’s Systems for Treating AIDS
Nationally (SUSTAIN) project. The project supports delivery of quality HIV
prevention, treatment, care and laboratory services at selected regional referral
and general hospitals.

staff, deliver/pick mail, project materials, equipment and supplies, keep the
vehicle in a good mechanical condition and ensure vehicle is prepared for long
trips on rough terrain prior to field visits, maintain the cleanliness of the
vehicle, ensure that the first aid kit is in place and stocked at all times,
complete the vehicle log book on a daily basis, ensure adherence and compliance
of rules and regulations outlined in URC vehicle use policies
Safely
drive staff members to execute their duties, including Kampala-based meetings
and trainings and regular field visits. Maintain timely schedule set by program
staff.
In
charge of delivering /picking mail, project materials, equipment and supplies,
as requested on a daily basis.
Keep
the vehicle in a good mechanical condition and ensure vehicle is prepared for
long trips on rough terrain prior to field visits.
Maintain
the cleanliness of the vehicle both inside and out. Ensure that the first aid
kit is in place and stocked at all times.
Ensure
routine monthly service of the vehicle, including oil changes and general
service.
Responsible
for completing the vehicle log book on a daily basis, recording all travel and
requiring staff transported to sign, and submit to Finance & Administration
Director for review and approval on a weekly basis.
Maintain
rules and regulations outlined in URC vehicle use policies.
Perform
any other related duties as may be assigned
Experience:
The
ideal candidate for the USAID Project Driver Jobs should hold an O-level
Certificate with relevant training. Knowledge of mechanics is an added
advantage.
Hold
a Valid Driver’s License
Four
or more years’ driving experience and 2 years’ experience in project related
work.
Familiar
with all terrain in Uganda.
Fluent
written and spoken English
Ability
to work with an international/multi-cultural team is desired
