WEI/Bantwana Initiative is a
Non-Governmental Organization that helps families and children orphaned and
made vulnerable by HIV/AIDS to access the comprehensive support and care they
need to grow into healthy adults.
About USAID Project:
The Bantwana Initiative of World
Education is implementing the USAID’s Better Outcomes for Children and Youth in
Eastern and Northern Uganda program—a $24.5 million program with a large sub
grant component. The Program is being implemented across 13 districts in
Eastern and Northern Uganda. Better Outcomes works with families, communities,
Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Local Government and the private sector to
address the long-term, comprehensive needs of vulnerable children and families
through improved OVC service delivery.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
·        
The
Accountant will manage accounting transactions on a daily basis and provide
administrative support to staff
·        
In
charge of reconciling donor funds, advance accounts, and bank accounts and
prepare and track donor budgets
·        
Also,
responsible for the preparation of all aspects of payroll
·        
Send
monthly accounts to the Boston Head Office including updated QuickBooks
Database and supporting documentation
·        
In
charge of the submission of monthly budget and cash requests to Boston Head
Office
·        
Work
closely with procurement team for all approvals and purchasing of equipment and
supplies
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
·        
The
ideal candidate for the USAID OVC Project career placement should hold a
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent
·        
Five
or more years’ experience in an accounting office
·        
Working
knowledge and experience with QuickBooks
·        
Detail-oriented,
ability to multi-task and work well under pressure
·        
Excellent
analytical and inter-personal skills
·        
Possess
the ability to prioritize, meets deadlines and work on multiple tasks
