initiate a five year program to contribute to a reduction in HIV infections,
total fertility, maternal and child mortality, malnutrition, malaria and tuberculosis
(TB).The core objective of the program is to enhance more effective use of
health services within the target population.
Monitoring and Evaluations Specialist will provide financial and administrative
leadership, oversight and guidance to IMA World Health’s effort with regards to
the USAID/Uganda’s Private Not for Profit Comprehensive HIV/AIDS Prevention,
Care and Treatment Services project in Uganda.
- Supports and manages the collection and
analysis of data for project M&E in accordance with time frames set
forth in the work plan - Develops M&E instrumentation tools for
the project as needed (including monitoring data collection forms for
program and partner staff). - Technically supports the documentation of
best practices and facilitate the use of such data to drive program design
and decision making - Provides technical guidance to build or
strengthening partner and stakeholder capacity for data management and
M&E - Produces information to share lessons
learned and for advocacy purposes - Supervises M&E, management information
systems (MIS) and Knowledge Management/ Communications team members to
ensure that all program results are included in program documents
- The ideal candidate must hold a Graduate
or post-graduate degree in public health, statistics, or related field - A minimum of eight or more years of
demonstrated experience in M&E of large-scale development programs. - Past experience in data collection, statistical
analysis, quantitative and qualitative research, and dissemination of
results - Prior experience in designing survey and
research tools and developing performance monitoring plans. - Prior experience organizing and delivering
training workshops, with the purpose of developing local capacity - Strong technical skills in data
management, M&E, surveillance, mapping, and assessment. - Previous experience in health, preferably
HIV/AIDS - Excellent communication and interpersonal
skills, and the ability to work in a team - Ability to develop a good working
relationship with local organizations, other program partners and
counterparts in order to contribute at the highest level to project
deliverables - Previous experience working in the Uganda
government pertaining to the health sector is preferable - Working Knowledge of USAID system
indicators, results, and reporting - Fluency in English language
