Wazalendo Savings and Credit Co-Operative
Society Limited (SACCO) is an Institutional SACCO composed of UPDF personnel,
their families, Reserve Forces and Staff of Ministry of Defence (MOD). It is
affiliated to Uganda Co-operative Savings and Credit Union Ltd (UCSCU) and
Uganda Co-operative Alliance (UCA).

Job Summary: The Senior ICT Officer will support the ICT
Manager in making sure that the ICT service meets the needs of Wazalendo SACCO
and is delivered. Specifically, the Senior ICT officer will develop and
maintain an information system infrastructure that smoothen the operations of
Wazalendo SACCO. The incumbent will maintain the integrated information system that
provides adequate and timely management information for decision making at all
levels. He or she will also increase the use of computing and communication
technology in the operations of Wazalendo SACCO.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

·
Organizing
all the potentials of the current Orbit Software to improve its operational
efficiency;

·
Exploring
and evaluating new technologies, for future planning and potential implantation
skills to reach institution’s goals of maintaining a competitive industrial
edge;

·
In
charge of designing and implementing a secure window network infrastructure;

·
Responsible
for data cleaning and validation, data analysis and production of reports;

·
Ensuring
that Wazalendo Computers, accessories, data, processed information/reports are
secure;

·
In
charge of reviewing, evaluating and developing proposals for new
hardware/software upgrades as appropriate;

·
Working
closely with software installation of automated computer accounting for
Wazalendo SACCO;

·
The
applicant will also be regularly deputizing for the ICT manager;

·
Within
a broad area of competence, investigating problems and other requests for
support and determining appropriate actions to take;

·
Working
closely with the systems development staff or software suppliers on the
development of system enhancements to overcome known problems or further fulfill
user requirements; and

·
Supporting
to resolve problems (e.g. poor performance) and faults (e.g. system failure)
occurring in the operation of hardware and software – especially those
requiring greater installation expertise.

Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:

·
The
applicant should preferably hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science,
Information Technology
or equivalent

·
Professional
IT certifications i.e. CCNA, CCNP, MCSE

·
Being
an Oracle Certified Professional will be an added advantage

·
A
minimum of five years’ experience in network and system administration
preferably in a Bank

·
Computer
literacy i.e. working knowledge of Microsoft Office Productivity Applications,
Relational Databases, and Business Computing Including Mobile Applications

·
Knowledge
of MIS/IT component of a financial institution like a Bank or Financial
Institution
