Network for Strategic Communication in Health and Development (AfriComNet)
Uganda
(AfriComNet) is a regional association of health and development communication
practitioners, who reside, work or have a primary interest in Africa.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the implementation of the
AfriComNet Strategic Plan. - In charge of developing annual work plans
and budgets. - Facilitate broad participation of members
in Network activities. - Establish and maintain effective internal
and external communication. - Serve as the main contact person for the
media and the general public. - Keep the Board of Directors informed of
Network activities through virtual of face- to-face meetings at least
quarterly. - Serve as the Secretary to the Board of
Directors. - Establish and maintain an updated database
of Network members. - Represent AfriComNet at regional,
international, and national conferences and meetings. x - Oversee and take responsibility for all
Network finances, including financial reports to the Board of Directors,
funders, the NGO Board, tax authorities, and others required by law. - Mentor and supervise the Secretariat Program
Officers, Finance Officer, and interns;
Experience:
- The incumbent should preferably hold a
Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Administration, or related field.
Additional training in public health, communication, financial management,
Information technology is an added advantage. - At least five years’ experience managing a
network secretariat or a non-governmental organization. - Excellent organizational and computer
skills - Excellent written and spoken English
required; knowledge of French, or Swahili an advantage. - Ability to meet deadlines.
