Women Lawyers) was established in 1974 by a group of women lawyers with the
primary objective of promoting their professional and intellectual growth. FIDA
Uganda established its first legal aid clinic in Kampala in 1988, with the
objective of providing legal services to indigent women to enable them access
justice.
Summary: The Human Resource
and Administration Officer will be responsible for supporting the Director
Finance & Administration in areas of Human resource, administration and
procurement.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Administration in ensuring the management of Administrative services:
Manage
administrative services of the institution
Ensure
a healthy working environment for
Ensure
a proper and efficient customer service and Front desk
Ensure
staff have sufficient working tool
Finance and Administration in the procurement of services and goods for the organization:
Prepare
an annual procurement budget
Lead
the supplier prequalification process in line with the organisation policies.
Carry
out procurement of service guided by the procurement policies.
Maintain
internal controls related to procurement
Resource:
Oversee
the recruitment of staff as necessary
Maintain
controls relating to staff recruitment in line with organization policies
Manage
the Annual staff appraisal process.
In
charge of developing the annual staff appraisal program
Prepare
and deliver timely HR & Administration Budgets
Prepare
the staff training program
Manage
the process of identifying staff training needs
Finance & Administration in the effective and efficient management of the
payroll process:
Ensure
the accurate numbers of staff are reflected on the payroll
Ensure
accuracy of the payroll
Make
sure there is timely payment of staff salaries
Prepare
monthly staff movement (leavers and joiners) schedules
Administration in preparation of the monthly and quarterly reports:
Prepare
monthly and quarterly reports for your section to feed into the Department’s
reports
Mentor
and support subordinate staff
Perform
any other duties as requested by the Director Finance & Administration
Skills and Experience:
The
applicant should preferably hold a university degree
A
minimum of four or more years’ experience in a HR and Administrative management
position in a reputable organisation
Mature
enough to manage people
Ability
to deliver with limited supervision
