Federation (IPPF), and its core mandate is to promote high quality, high-impact
and gender sensitive Sexual & Reproductive Health and Rights information
and services through capacity building, specialized service delivery, issue
specific advocacy and strategic partnerships.
Job
Summary:
The Advocacy Manager will provide technical support and guidance to
the RHU Advocacy related to Sexual & Reproductive Health and Rights, to
achieve tangible advocacy outcomes and results.
Key
Duties and Responsibilities: 
·        
Oversee and manage the advocacy function of the
Organization, including building capacity in, implementing and evaluating
policy and programmatic advocacy for diverse groups in the area of sexual &
reproductive health and rights
·        
Work closely with the Executive Director to
establish and maintain partnerships, collaborations and networks in relation to
SRHR advocacy
·        
Represent the Organization at International,
National and sub-national fora as assigned
·        
Actively engage with duty bearers and claim
holders on policy change, resource mobilization and allocation, budget tracking
and accountability of funds in regard to different Sexual and Reproductive
Health issues
·        
Provide capacity building, mentorship and support
to relevant RHU management and staff, and to its stakeholders
·        
Establish and maintain a result based system for
monitoring and evaluating advocacy related to SRHR advocacy in RHU
·        
Perform any other professional duties as may be
required by the Supervisor(s)
Qualifications,
Skills and Experience: 
·        
The ideal candidate should hold an advanced degree
in communication, journalism, public health or social science from an
accredited university or college and
·        
A minimum of five years of progressively
responsible experience with demonstrable results in advocacy and research in
health related work.
·        
Past NGO experience is an added advantage.
·        
Working knowledge and skills in communicating and
advocating with and to different policy makers on different aspects of Sexual
& Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) using diverse means, strong
analytical and team building skills.
·        
Working knowledge of national SRHR policy
especially Family Planning policy, excellent knowledge of evidence and result
based advocacy.
·        
Skills in building capacity, documenting and
packaging advocacy information using diverse means to do so.
·        
Proven ability to work effectively with minimum
supervision, and ability to coach, guide, and build task oriented teams.
