About Us:
South Eastern Private Sector Promotion
Enterprise Ltd (SEPSPEL) evolved from Busia Private Sector Promotion Centre,
which was established in 1998 by the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic
Development (MoFPED) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) as a
GoU/UNDP programme. In 2003, the Promotion Centre was re-profiled and
registered as a company limited by guarantee. SEPSPEL’s mission is” To
empower the vulnerable communities to attain improved standards of living on a
sustainable basis”. The organization has operations in 22 Districts. We
focus on Livelihoods, Education, Advocacy, Human Rights, Water and Sanitation
and Private Sector Capacity building.
Job Summary:  The Microfinance and Business Development
Advisor provides leadership and oversight of 4 Microfinance and Livelihoods
projects implemented by SEPSPEL. The incumbent  ensures high-quality programming and works
directly with development partners and will have the responsibility to ensure:
program development, technical program quality, achievement of planned targets,
adherence to implementation timetables, supervision of project staff,
compliance with all donors regulations, good quality reporting and effective
representation to donors, local authorities, partners, and other stakeholders.
As one of the senior staff member of SEPSPEL, he/she will supervise 3 Project
Managers and represent SEPSPEL at the local level in the absence of the CEO.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
·        
The
ideal candidate should preferably hold a Master’s degree in Rural Development,
Microfinance, Business Administration, Agriculture, Development Studies or
related field;
·        
A
minimum of five years’ experience with detailed working knowledge of
Microfinance and Livelihood projects, in particular Tier 4 MFIs, agro-enterprise
development and farmers groups;
·        
Working
knowledge of the National Policies and Laws related to the Micro-Finance and
SMEs; Demonstrated experience managing staff, and project activities;
·        
Past
experience in designing and implementing monitoring & evaluation systems
·        
Excellent
interpersonal and teamwork skills;
·        
Strong
organizational and planning skills;
·        
Excellent
oral and written communication skills;
Age: Between 28-37 years
