Job Summary: The Senior Technician 2 Radio and TX will primarily
ensure network availability through carrying out proper reactive and preventive
maintenance of all network infrastructure system including Fiber, Satellite,
GSM, 3G, 4G WiMAX, Microwave Radio network systems and High capacity DEMUX and
MUXES.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Carry out work maintenance routines on a
    day to day basis for all Network Equipment in respective region.
  • Pro-actively monitor network nodes for
    timely fault resolution.
  • To be a resource to the NOC for escalation
    and fault resolution in respective region.
  • To execute work orders as assigned to the
    Radio Maintenance section.
  • Manage MTCE contractors in the region for
    all outsourced technical work in the Radio Maintenance section.
  • Must be able to work extended hours and
    drive long distance with minimum supervision.
  • To be a resource to fixed line NOC for
    escalation and fault resolution in the respective region
  • Ensure general housekeeping and
    cleanliness of sites in respective region.
  • To be an immediate HLS resource to his
    subordinates hence knowledge transfer.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate should preferably hold
    a Higher Diploma in Electrical Engineering or BSC in Telecommunication.
  • A minimum of four or more years’
    experience of work with a reputable telecommunication company as an
    Engineer.
  • Computer and people skills/experience is
    essential.
  • Fiber optic maintenance
  • Microwave Radio operations and maintenance
  • Vendor specific BTS training for the
    O& M.
  • 3G, 4G WiMAX technologies training for
    O&M.
  • Knowledge hungry with self-driven into
    research of new technologies.
  • High self-motivated learner to cope with
    the dynamic telecom industry.
  • High levels of initiative and innovation,
  • Knowledge hungry and research oriented,
  • Knowledge transfer enthusiast independent
    worker
  • Resilience and capable working of long
    hours.
  • Calm structured way of approach to work.
  • Processes oriented and highly organized
    person
  • Can do spirit driven by the customer
    centric approach towards tasks and work in general.
  • Effective technical communications skills
    and great technical analytical skills.
