vehicle servicing & repair as well as Yamaha motorcycles, Hino trucks and
Case tractors.
Job Summary:  The Self Clearing Officer will manage the warehouse
and ensure new stock, ex-warehouse identified units, make declarations to customs
and follow through the registration process at URA from start to finish, by
ensuring delivery within the time promised to customers.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
·        
Responsible
for warehousing of new stock on arrival in the URA ASYCUDA World database.
·        
Updating
and maintaining a register/record of delayed warehousing with reasons for the
delay for future reference in case of a URA query.
·        
Computing
applicable duties for various units and capture the entries for payment of
duties.
·        
In
charge of online registration of released entries and make declarations to/
lodgment of entries to customers.
·        
Actively
following up duty exemption certificates and transferred log books at URA.
·        
Compiling
bi- weekly status report on all units under customs clearance with projected
completion times.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience:  
·        
The
applicant should preferably hold a Bachelor’s degree in a business discipline
·        
Hold
the Eastern Africa customs & freight forwarding practicing certificate
·        
A
minimum of two years’ experience in a similar position.
·        
Working
knowledge of duty computation & customs declaration procedures, East Africa
Customs Management Act & EAC Customs Union External Tariff.
·        
Report
writing, riding skills
