Financial Services Officer

appropriate products for poor people and small and medium enterprises. The
programme will tackle barriers to equitable, sustainable and inclusive growth
and will help Uganda to meet its Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and create
opportunities, in particular for women and girls.

supporting development, uptake and usage of innovative financial products and
services that impact millions of clients.
Work
in liaison with the DFS specialist to analyze solutions proposed by partners to
ensure strategic alignment between FSD Uganda and the partner, end-to-end
technical solution provision, soundness of partner business case and realistic
target setting.
Work
with the DFS specialist to develop the DFS pillar work plan. This will be in
coordination with other pillar leads to ensure an integrated FSD Uganda
strategy implementation. The officer will be in charge of circulating the plan
to FSD Uganda team, maintaining and updating the relevant document.
Work
in liaison with FSD Uganda partners to collect, verify and file all relevant
project information. This will include information related to funding proposals
and running projects, for purposes of monitoring progress. The officer will
maintain a challenges, risks and mitigation log for all the running projects,
which they shall populate based on partner feedback. The officer will
periodically review partner project progress against baseline work plans,
ensuring that the partners have completed activities under specific funding
periods before FSD Uganda approves the next funding disbursement.
Ensure
that all projects in the investment cycle are correctly captured in the
pipeline tracker, keeping the Technical Director up to date weekly with the
changes. The officer will check that these projects are contributing to the FSD
Uganda log frame targets, bringing to the attention of the DFS specialist any
risks or opportunities that may result.
Work
with the DFS specialist to facilitate workshops and meetings with industry
players. This will involve coordinating the logistics, taking notes and minutes
at meetings and sending out summary notes to the FSD Uganda team.
In
charge of collecting and compiling information from the Ugandan, regional and
global digital financial services sector into a monthly report highlighting
innovations, trends, relevant implementations.
Experience:
The
ideal candidate should hold a University degree in a relevant field
Project
Management qualification PRINCE2 or PMI
Working
knowledge of technology based financial products for the mass market e.g.
Mobile Money
At
least one year’s experience in product development, business case analysis and
project management
Past
experience in proposal writing
Working
knowledge of new and emerging technologies that extend financial services to
the excluded.
Knowledge
of the Ugandan financial sector
Ability
to work in and collaborate successfully with large teams
Ability
to work under pressure to tight reporting deadlines
Effective
written and oral communication skills (including presentation skills)
Strong
planning and organizational skills;

attention to detail and accuracy;
