Summary: The Business Intelligence Analyst will provide timely, accurate and
actionable information business wide, primarily supporting the online arm of
the business. This is an exciting role working in a team that is developing new
and innovative business intelligence solutions in a fast changing environment.
The incumbent will be tasked to support the development of new solutions and
will be encouraged to seek innovations to develop business understanding and
insight across the business.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Take full responsibility for key reporting areas,
producing relevant/useable information to enable recipients to make informed
business decisions.
Ensure weekly/monthly reports are delivered
accurately and on time so users will always have the latest, most up to date
information/analysis.
Proactively seek to develop self. Look to improve
technical skills, industry/Future knowledge and analytical techniques.
Work to develop existing reports and improve
departmental efficiency, without compromising quality or accuracy.
Provide modelling support to the business to
enable accurate future planning decisions to be made.
Support in the delivery of MSP governance
preparation and report delivery process.
Look to develop skill set and knowledge base to
provide ability to support other linked business areas – such as Database
Warehousing technics and trend analysis.
To, wherever possible, provide reports and
analysis in commercial terms to ensure business impact is understood in the
clearest possible terms.
Investigate and seek to resolve any identified
data integrity issues, feeding the analysis back to the source of the issues to
attempt to remove possibility of reoccurrence.
Technically support the Managed Services
Operations Manager with all Ad-hoc requests, in order to fulfill various
business needs.
Perform any other duties as assigned by the
Manager, IT Operations Support.
Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidate should hold a degree or
equivalent in a relevant discipline.
At least two years’ relevant work experience.
Past experience with Web Analytics tools (Google
Analytics, SiteStat, comScore, SiteCatalyst, WebTrends etc.) for Dashboard
integrations.
Detailed knowledge and understanding of online
competitive intelligence tools available (comScore, Hitwise, Google Insights
etc.) is desired
Previous experience in a BPO/MSP environment
Knowledge of Business Objects
Past experience with 3rd Party Data/Software
providers
Knowledge of HTML
Excellent relationship building skills
Excellent analytical and numeracy skills
Excellent MS Excel knowledge (ideally to encompass
VBA)
Good database/data warehouse knowledge (ideally
SQL and/or Oracle)
Detailed knowledge and understanding of online
universe.
Capability to escalate and delegate as appropriate
Possess the ability to use independent judgment,
when necessary and be assertive within parameters of the role
Excellent communication skills
Self-motivation and commitment to deadlines
Ability to prioritize workload and juggle multiple
tasks
Strong interest in Managed Services and BPO
industry
