Youth Project
Jinja, Uganda
Non-Governmental Organization that helps families and children orphaned and
made vulnerable by HIV/AIDS to access the comprehensive support and care they
need to grow into healthy adults.
Education is implementing the USAID’s Better Outcomes for Children and Youth in
Eastern and Northern Uganda program—a $24.5 million program with a large sub
grant component. The Program is being implemented across 13 districts in
Eastern and Northern Uganda. Better Outcomes works with families, communities,
Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Local Government and the private sector to
address the long-term, comprehensive needs of vulnerable children and families
through improved OVC service delivery.
Manage
the coordination of capacity building activities with CSOs, local government
and communities to strengthen OVC service delivery systems
Provide
technical oversight and coordination support for district- level human resources
systems strengthening efforts
Sensitize
district, CSO and communities on relevant national OVC policies and other
relevant guidelines
Coordinate
delivery of technical support in planning, implementing, monitoring and
evaluating OVC services
In
charge of supporting delivery of finance and operations technical support to
government and CSO partners
Support
districts and CSOs to develop evidence-based plans and strategies for improved
OVC service delivery and resource mobilization
Actively
facilitate and strengthen linkages and coordination between local government,
CSOs and the private sector
Experience:
The
ideal candidate for the USAID Project career opportunity should preferably hold
a Master’s degree in Public Health, Administration, or related field.
Possession of a Bachelor’s is considered a minimum.
Five
or more years of capacity development or related field experience
Proven
ability implementing capacity development initiatives with government and/or
CSOs
Ability
to work independently, multi-task and take initiative
Excellent
communication and interpersonal skills;
Excellent
critical thinking, problem-solving, and leadership skills
Good
working knowledge and understanding of OVC / Youth HIV programming
