MSC:
Microfinance Support Centre Limited (MSC) is a linchpin of Government of Uganda
credit programmes under the Rural Financial Services Strategy. MSC facilitates
access to affordable, sustainable and convenient financial and Business
Development services to active and productive Ugandans. MSC Ltd supports
legally established entities engaged in the value chain namely; production,
value addition and marketing enterprises. MSC offers affordable credit through
its network of 13 regional offices spread throughout the country. It has so far
served clients in 110 districts in Uganda. It gives priority financing to
support the agricultural production value chain namely; production, value
addition and marketing. Besides credit,
MSC provides capacity building to its clients including SACCOs, Cooperative
Unions, MFIs and SMEs to enable them manage their organizations sustainably.
Summary: The Business Development & Collaboration Officer will be
responsible for the identification of opportunities for the provision and
growth of new business and providing support to staff in Business Development
Service delivery.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Carry out a sector analysis focusing on
identifying service and product gaps and the development of new products and
services, including assessment of microfinance industry best practices.
Work closely with the Marketing Team, identify
opportunities for new market development and evaluate appropriate market entry
opportunities
Develop and execute a business development plan
for MSC to achieve set performance targets and objectives that will support
market penetration, market development and Product/service development
Participate as a member of the MSC marketing team
and support activities across the organization including events and campaigns
Responsible for identifying, targeting and
developing business relationships that are aligned with the strategy of MSC
Build and strengthen working relationship maps for
key stakeholders
Actively facilitate the formulation of strategic
alliances and service delivery partnerships
Undertake proactive networking with all relevant
external stakeholder groups to expand service delivery opportunities
Work with company clients to identify their
business development needs
Develop Training and Development programmes and
provide training or coaching to company clients and MSC staff where necessary.
Skills and Experience:
The applicant should preferably hold a Degree
(Honors) in Business Administration or any other business related degree
Certificate in TOT is a desirable
A minimum of two or more years’ experience in Business Development Services and collaboration with a reputable organization
preferably in a finance institution.
Working knowledge and understanding of relevant
networks in the Microfinance Industry.
Highly self-driven with high sense of
responsibility, integrity and assertiveness.
Possess the ability to work in teams with
dynamism, innovations and Creativity
Ability to meet deadline with minimal supervision.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
