Job Summary: The Education Project Coordinator will be
primarily responsible for Monitoring & Evaluation, partnership/networking,
and capacity building of school and community-based activities to increase
student retention for improved reading outcomes of the USAID funded Literacy
Achievement and Retention Activity (LARA) project. The incumbent will also
support safe school methodologies to prevent and reduce school-related
gender-based violence to improve child protection. The individual will support
the Safe Learning Specialist in collaborating with strategic partners on child
protection, including UNICEF and other relevant USAID/Uganda implementing
partners.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
1.
Capacity Building and Training:
·        
Under
the leadership of the Safe Learning Advisor, the incumbent mentors and trains
on School Management Committees, School Management Committee Associations,
teachers, parents, youth, other community members, and students for the purpose
of increasing retention and child protection against violence in and around
schools.
·        
Delivers
training, TOT, support supervision, role modeling, and mentoring to teachers
and youth regarding retention, child protection, and violence.
·        
Implement
community based approaches in collaboration with local authorities to promote
accountability for student safety and to improve retention.
·        
Technically
support capacity building of SMCs and SMCAs to participate in education
district advocacy initiatives
·        
Actively
collaborate with Safe Learning team to build capacity of CBO grantees.
2.
Monitoring & Evaluation:
·        
Technically
support the execution of a rapid assessment to identify the most important
causes of primary students dropping out, focusing on critical vulnerabilities
for children at schools.
·        
Support
processes of establishing project baselines and evaluation of the LARA project
·        
In
charge of capturing project indicators related to community engagement in
literacy and safe schools
·        
Effectively
report and document all information related to project progress and disseminate
through regular reporting.
3.
Project Implementation:
·        
Ensure
quality in the rollout of classroom management practices that will create a
safer learning environment and improve retention in assigned districts of
implementation.
·        
Actively
support the implementation of innovative and culturally appropriate approaches
to equip students with skills to protect themselves from abuse and violence.
·        
Keenly
track financial management and budgets allocated for the project.
·        
Send
timely, accurate, compliant and quality reports to direct supervisor.
·        
Responsible
for project assets at local office level.
4.
Partnership and Networking:
·        
Identify
and build strategic linkages, relations, collaborations and networks with
partners and other stakeholders in implementation at the district level.
·        
Actively
participate and represent WVU in key donor or partner engagements and technical
working forums at district and regional levels
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: 
·        
The
applicants for the World Vision Education Project Coordinator vacancies should
hold Bachelor’s Degrees in Education, Social Sciences or other degree with a
diploma in Education. Post graduate education training is an added advantage
·        
At
least five years’ experience in primary education programming with a reputable
institution, national or international NGO
·        
Good
knowledge and understanding of education concepts and issues in development
contexts, especially Uganda
·        
Proven
experience in the logical framework approach to project design, monitoring and
evaluation/ project cycle management
·        
Good
knowledge and understanding of data analysis software such as SPSS, Ms Excel,
and Stata
·        
Demonstrated
experience and skill in research, analysis and report writing
·        
Strong
facilitation and presentation skills with a passion for sharing knowledge
·        
Ability
to work independently and as part of a diverse team
·        
A
committed Christian, able to stand above denominational diversities
·        
Highly
motivated to achieve quality results and service
·        
Demonstrate
accountability and integrity
·        
Possess
the ability to communicate effectively
·        
Be a

Knowledge
