Non-Governmental Organization that helps families and children orphaned and
made vulnerable by HIV/AIDS to access the comprehensive support and care they
need to grow into healthy adults.
is implementing the USAID’s Better Outcomes for Children and Youth in Eastern
and Northern Uganda program—a $24.5 million program with a large sub grant
component. The Program is being implemented across 13 districts in Eastern and
Northern Uganda. Better Outcomes works with families, communities, Civil
Society Organizations (CSOs), Local Government and the private sector to
address the long-term, comprehensive needs of vulnerable children and families
through improved OVC service delivery.
The
incumbent will develop risk assessment and corresponding audit plan to align risk
level to audit frequency/ rotation
Carries
out general internal auditing, e.g., monitoring claims for thoroughness,
reviewing files for proper documentation and reviewing internal operations for
compliance
Performs
sub-recipient site visits as needed.
Complete
periodic financial statement and compliance reviews of partners in the field.
Meets work standards by following standards; resolving operational problems;
identifying work process improvements
Makes
sure that there is compliance with regulations and controls by examining and
analyzing records, reports, operating practices, and documentation;
recommending opportunities to strengthen the internal control structure
Provides
management reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing management
information
Experience:
The
USAID Project Internal Auditors should hold University degrees with emphasis in
Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field;
professional accounting qualification will be an added advantage
A
minimum of two (2) years of work experience in the area of internal audit.
Knowledge
and experience with Generally Accepted Auditing Standards.
Past
experience with governmental/non-profit accounting principles and procedures.
Self-starter,
able to work independently, and entrepreneurial; enjoys creating and
implementing new initiatives.
