College of Medicine Children’s Foundation – Uganda (Baylor -Uganda) is a private
not for profit NGO that provides: HIV/AIDS care, treatment and prevention
services; maternal child health services; Health Professional training and
Clinical Research.
Summary: The Mentor Midwife CQI will be
responsible for the monitoring of the implementation of systems, strategies for
promoting Goal Oriented and functional ‘Antenatal and postnatal Services’,
improvement in new born care and managing quality improvement initiatives
impacting on core clinical processes and critical patient care functions in the
attached districts in line with MoH policy for CQI MoH guidelines for MNH
services.
Skills and Experience:
All candidates should preferably hold degrees in
Nursing (reproductive health) from a recognized institution and must be
registered with the relevant professional body.
Three or more years of experience in Quality
Improvement approaches and training clinical service providers.
At least two years’ experience in managing
HIV/AIDs care and treatment programs/projects with a focus on maternal health
and PMTCT/EID/HCT
Significant experience in the use of Collaborative
approaches in Ql would be an advantageBe a Trainer of Trainers in PMTCT and
Early Infant Diagnosis and must have solid working knowledge (practical skills)
in the following areas: new born care, PMTCT, PWP, HCT, AB, ART, immunisation,
family planning and sexual reproductive health issues and ability to screen for
tuberculosis and cancer
Excellent team and communication skills
Be dynamic, persuasive and convincing
Highly self- motivated
Ability to demonstrate high initiative.
