Job Summary: The Director Applied Meteorology, Data and Climate
Services will oversee the analysis of data, and issue timely climate forecasts
and advise accordingly.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Guides the Executive Directorate on
Applied Meteorology, Data and Climate Services - Supervises running of Dynamical Climate
Models to provide general and user specific meteorological products; - Ensures production of climate change
indices and projections; - Manages the preparation of national
agro-meteorological and hydro-meteorological products. - Oversees the production of timely seasonal
climate forecasts and advisories; - Supervises research on climate
variability, climate change detection, attribution and prediction.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The incumbent should preferably hold an
Honors Bachelor in Natural Sciences and an additional Master’s degree in
Meteorology or related fields (Environmental studies, Agriculture,
Forestry, Hydrology and Atmospheric Sciences) - Additional training in either Public
Administration, Business Administration or Management Studies is an added
advantage - Eight or more years’ experience in a
related field with a reputable organization, 2 years of which should be at
a senior managerial level
