the Ministry of Trade Industry and Cooperatives mandated to coordinate the
elaboration of standards and quality of products and services so as to
facilitate fair trade, promote local industries and protect consumers.
- Regularly check and verify documents
submitted for payment for validity, accuracy and completeness with the
view of detecting and correcting errors or irregularities. - Ensure that all expenditures are captured
under appropriate codes in the computerized financial system on timely
basis. - Ensure timely preparation of monthly staff
payroll and payments to other suppliers. - Prepare monthly budget monitoring and
performance reports. - Support the Principal Accountant in the
preparation of final accounts. - Responsible for the preparation of journal
vouchers for approval and posting to the computerized financial system. - Do monthly Bank reconciliation for the
respective Bank Accounts. - Maintain up-to-date reconciled debtors and
creditors journals. - Ensuring organized and safe custody of
financial and related documents. - Timely filing and remittance of statutory
obligations i.e PAYE, NSSF, WHT and LST. - Perform any other duties that may be
assigned by the head of division.
- The ideal candidate should preferably hold
an Honour’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration,
Commerce or equivalent - Possession of Professional qualification
e.g. ACCA, CPA etc. - At least five years accounting experience
- Proven ability in the use of Computerized
Financial Systems. Mastery in using Integrated Financial Management System
(IFMS) will be added advantage - The candidate must also be a team player,
an excellent communicator with good oral communication and presentation
skills
