About US:
Fenix International is a for-profit corporation and the creator of
affordable, Pay-To-Own renewable energy products that empower those living
off-grid. Over 34m people in Uganda are off-grid, which equates to 6.2m
households who have no access to power and instead depend on kerosene for light
and local businesses for phone charging. To address this, Fenix International
has developed ReadyPay, a new Pay-To-Own Solar Power System. Coming in a range
of kits, ReadyPay Power Systems are designed to provide clean light, phone
charging, entertainment and more for those living off-grid.
Each ReadyPay is unique in that it contains lock-out technology, and,
together with MTN Mobile Money, it allows a customer to take a solar power
system home for a small down payment from just $15. Customers then “top up”
their ReadyPay through MTN Mobile Money payments (starting from $0.40 per day).
Each time a payment is made via Mobile Money, their ReadyPay Solar Power System
is unlocked for a set period of time. Customers will then eventually own their
ReadyPay systems after making continuous mobile money payments for a period 18
months.
Job Summary:  The Sales
Representative will be tasked with driving the sales for our ReadPay Solar
Power Systems across Uganda. This person will work directly with the Area Sales
Manager and the National Sales Manager to ensure the ReadyPay brand is strong
in their area, generate revenue by developing market potential through lead
generation, and most importantly closing sales to hit targets as well as
support the implementation of after-sales services.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Hit sales targets set for your territory
  • Technically support and oversee ReadyPay
    Points of Sale (POS) in your territory
  • Demonstrates products and services to
    potential customers and assists them in selecting those best suited to
    their needs.
  • Emphasize product/service features and
    benefits, prices, discuss credit terms, and prepare sales order forms.
  • Ensure quality of after-sales services is
    exceptional in your territory
  • Build and maintain ongoing awareness of
    new products and services and competitor activities
  • Build and foster a network of referrals to
    create new opportunities for revenue growth.
  • Identify, train and manage a team of
    product champions in your territory
  • Build and maintain relationships with
    managers and staff of ReadyPay Dealers in your region.
  • Work in partnership with MTN
    representatives to benefit from their additional activities e.g shows,
    radio advertising etc
  • Collect, analyze and report product and
    customer feedback to contribute directly to Fenix product and business
    development strategy
  • Management of stock at POSs ensuring
    healthy supply for RPCs to access
  • Always maintain professionalism, tact,
    diplomacy, and sensitivity to portray Fenix in a positive manner
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate for the Sales
    Representative Job should hold a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree
  • The applicant should have three or more years
    of work experience with at least three (2) years of sales experience
  • Past exposure and experience working in rural
    sales environment
  • Proven ability to hit sales targets
  • Experience with and ability to effectively
    work with teams
  • Ability to customize and clearly
    communicate the Fenix value proposition, including quantitative and
    qualitative benefits to the customer and the consumer, for written and
    verbal presentations to all types of stakeholders
  • Ability to manage inventory and
    after-sales services processes
  • Outstanding written and verbal
    communications skills in English & key languages spoken in your region
  • Ability to learn and share technical
    specifications of Fenix products
  • Computer literacy i.e. Proficiency in
    Microsoft Word, Excel & Google Apps
  • Passion for Fenix, ReadyPay and our
    customers’ experience
  • Team player
  • Proven ability to execute on key duties
    and implement projects to resolution
  • Strong organization and critical thinking
    skills
  • Ability and drive to work independently
  • Humility, honesty & flexibility
