(MDI). Finance Trust Bank is a fully-fledged commercial bank serving a
clientele of over 300,000 depositors and over 27,000’ borrowers, through a
network of 36 branches countrywide. The bank offers a variety of Products and
services including; Savings, Current accounts, Loans, Money transfer services
and Bills payments to its target market which comprises of micro, small and medium
entrepreneurs, salary earners and youth.
Job Summary: The Recovery Manager will be responsible for
planning, coordinating and leading the recovery of delinquent loans in line
with the debt recovery policies and procedures.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • In charge of formulating and implementing
    strategies for recovery of delinquent facilities in line with the
    collections policy and procedures.
  • Provide leadership to the recovery team
    and ensure that delinquent facilities are timeously recovered or
    rehabilitated to performing status in line with the collections policy and
    procedures.
  • Oversee and closely monitor the
    productivity of the recovery staff in line with set targets and
    performance agreements.
  • Actively coordinate the allocation of
    portfolios to external debt collectors and other service providers in
    recovery and ensure adherence to the terms and conditions of engagement.
  • Ensure that proper procedures are followed
    in liquidation of customer collaterals and guide the branches and the
    recovery agents on the recovery process.
  • Conduct periodical review of the recovery
    policy and procedures and advise on new developments in the recovery
    process.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate should hold a
    Bachelor’s degree in a business related discipline or related discipline
    gained from a recognized university. Possession of a postgraduate
    qualification in a business or management field will be an added
    advantage.
  • At least five years working experience in
    Credit /Lending/ debt collection, three (3) of which must have been gained
    from a leadership / supervisory position in a financial institution.
  • Working experience in a commercial bank
    will be an added advantage.
  • Detailed working knowledge of relevant
    laws relating to mortgages and recovery
