About BTC:
BTC, the Belgian Development Agency, together with different Government
Ministries, are implementing the bilateral cooperation between Uganda &
Belgium.
Job Summary:  The Finance
and Administration Officer will be responsible for a variety of administrative
and finance-related tasks.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • The incumbent will be tasked with the
    preparation of  bank payments
  • Intuitively check and encode accounting
    transactions
  • Ensure the timely accounting closing every
    month
  • Expeditiously follow up on advances
  • Ensure the proper filing of all accounting
    documents
  • Make follow up of contracts, commitments
    and public procurements
  • He / she will be in charge of preparing
    the monthly payroll
  • Follow up on insurances and legal
    litigations
  • Actively monitor cash positions
  • Perform financial analysis and ad-hoc
    studies
  • Perform accountability checks on the
    contracts with Local Governments
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The applicant should possess a bachelor’s
    degree in accounting, finance and/or administration or related field ACCA,
    CPA, CIMA or similar is an added advantage
  • At least five years’ experience in
    accounting, preferably in a similar position
  • Working knowledge of and experience with
    tax related matters in Uganda
  • Previous experience with an international
    organization or NGO experience is an added advantage
  • Computer literacy skills i.e. proficiency
    in Microsoft Excel and word is essential
  • Past experience working with Local
    Government and Ministries is an added advantage
  • Excellent communication skills and a good
    team player
  • Ability to work independently and under
    stressful conditions
