BRAC, one of the largest Non-Governmental Development Organization (non-profit) in
the world, working in a number of countries in Africa and Asia on poverty
alleviation Programs, is registered in Uganda as BRAC Uganda. The organization
implements integrated development approach combining Education, Health,
Agriculture, Livestock, Adolescent Empowerment and Microfinance.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Prepare, develop and finalize the project
    manual/ module for the health team and community health promoters.
  • Update training manual, training materials
    as needed.
  • Prepare all other BCC materials needed for
    the health activities by the community health promoters and health staff.
  • Actively contribute to HMIS to up-date
    reporting system on health activities and also develop the medicine and
    relevant health activities tracking.
  • In charge of planning and rolling out
    staff development and Community Health Promoters development activities.
  • Conduct TOTs, field level staff and CHP
    trainings.
  • Works closely with and strengthen
    collaboration with Government Health Centers and District health officials
    to increase referral linkage
  • Perform any other duties as may deem
    necessary.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate should hold a BSc. in
    Public Health, Nursing and or Human Medicine
  • A minimum of three to five years working
    experience in directly training, managing, teaching and or supervising a
    large number of community health workers.
  • Skills in developing training/ teaching
    tools, training manuals and BCC materials suitable for the community based
    health workers, especially on maternal child, ICCM and IMCI, health nutrition,
    family planning and reproductive health (WASH)
  • Highly developed effective, efficient and
    friendly quality assurance, M&E assessment tools for CMHs and health
    staff.
  • Possess sufficient Knowledge in the field
    of training-using adult learning method and Project management.
  • Possess the ability to analyze, understand
    and discuss new program designs, and implementation approaches, including
    conducting interactive training for health teams.
