Our Client, National Housing and Construction Company Limited (NHCC)
was founded in 1964 and is a Ugandan construction and real estate management
company, partly owned by the Uganda Government. The Company’s mandate is to
increase the housing stock in the country, rehabilitate the housing industry
and encourage Ugandans to own homes in an organized environment.
Job Summary:  The Senior
Market Analyst will collect and analyze data to evaluate existing and potential
product and service markets, including identifying and monitoring competitors’
activities and market conditions, or changes in the industry that may affect
sales, as well as advise on relevant economic aspects of the housing industry.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • In charge of designing, conducting and
    coordinating market intelligence and market research, as well as
    evaluation studies on customer satisfaction, knowledge, attitudes and
    perceptions of the various NHCC product offerings.
  • Keenly track and evaluate competitors’
    activities and design proactive responses for use by the Sales and Marketing
    Section.
  • Develop and maintain a detailed customer
    database for all the business categories for easy and accurate account
    planning, activity tracking, renewal, forecasting and management review.
  • Actively coordinate the development of a
    pricing strategy, including new concepts and ideas for Company products.
  • Coordinate the profiling and segmentation
    of NHCCL’s clientele base into strategic business categories for better
    business targeting.
  • Coordinate the design of NHCCL’s product
    offerings and sales strategies suitable for each business category, and
    continue to update these sales strategies from time to time.
  • Develop and maintain a price review
    mechanism for more competitive prices of condominiums and other salable
    and rentable properties for consideration and onward discussion by Top
    Management.
  • Develop and execute coherent marketing
    communications strategies, including advertising and promotions, for
    NHCCL’s products, across a variety of media with the objective of
    effectively promoting the Company and its products.
  • Coordinate media agency management of the
    advertising and event relationships, ensuring successful marketing
    campaign coordination across all elements of the marketing mix.
  • Manage the development, production and
    country-wide distribution of sales-support and promotional materials,
    including media kits.
  • Keenly analyse and advise Management on
    the economic dimensions of the housing industry and their implications for
    NHCCL’s products and their competitiveness in the market.
  • Provide the Company’s Management, whenever
    necessary, with relevant specialist, expert and technical advice (on the
    basis of appropriate and comprehensive analysis and evaluation), with
    regard to the Company’s Investment opportunities and projects – especially
    those involving Partnerships, External Contractors and other Service
    Providers – as well provide the necessary supervision, quality assurance,
    facilitation and coordination of the implementation of the corresponding
    projects – with a view to ensuring their profitable success.
  • Perform any other duties as may from time
    to time be directed by the relevant authority.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate for the Senior Market
    Analyst vacancy should hold a Degree in Marketing, Housing Economics or a
    closely related and relevant discipline, from a recognized University.
  • Full and valid membership of a nationally,
    or internationally recognized professional Marketers’ body shall be an
    added advantage. Possession of a Diploma or equivalent qualification in Project
    Planning and Management, from a recognized institution, shall be an added
    advantage.
  • Additional specialized training and
    appropriate qualifications in Housing Economics, from a recognized
    institution, are essential.
  • A minimum of three or more years’
    experience years in the area of Market Analysis and Marketing Strategy, in
    a large and reputable Construction, or Civil Works Company, or a reputable
    Real Estate, or Commercial firm.
  • Detailed working knowledge and skills in
    application of Sales & Marketing-related Software and MS Office
    Packages (especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint), are essential.
  • Proven previous successful housing market
    analysis and marketing strategy, with evidence, is essential.
  • Demonstrated negotiation and communication
    skills.
  • Results-oriented, business-focused and
    customer satisfaction-oriented.
  • Coordination and networking skills, as
    well as a team-player.
  • Cost consciousness and proven ability to
    pursue value for money.
  • Analytical, accuracy and judgmental
    skills.
  • Excellent IT and computer proficiency
    skills.
  • Proven good presentation and reporting
    abilities.
  • Good interpersonal and human relations
    skills.
  • Maturity, high ethics and integrity.
  • A confident, independent, articulate and
    reliable personality.
  • Possess the ability to work under tight
    deadlines, for long hours and to deliver high quality outputs with minimal
    supervision.
