Corporate established by an Act of Parliament, number 2 of 2014, to provide
both Loans and Scholarships to Ugandan Students to pursue Higher Education. The
objective of the Loan Scheme is to increase equitable access to Higher
Education in Uganda and also support qualified students who may not afford the
cost of Higher Education.
Finance and Administration will be responsible for the oversight of Board
Financial and Human resources and physical assets records and ensuring that
board strategic objectives are timely met for effective decision making.
- Supervise the process of financial
planning and budgeting for the Board’s resources and prepare budget requisitions to Government. - Keep the Board’s financial records,
prepare periodic financial reports as directed and ensure compliance with
the statutory financial reporting requirements. - Establish internal controls and procedures
for the organization to safeguard the Board’s finances and assets. - Regularly review the books of accounts and
ensure that the financial management information system is established and
applied at all levels of the Board- - Conduct periodic supervision to review and
examine the financial books and accounts to ensure that they are
kept/maintained in line with standard accounting practices and that
financial policies, rules, regulations and procedures are complied with at
all levels. - Produce timely annual final accounts and
periodic management accounts as required by Management and Board. - Manage the procurement function for the
Board. - Manage the performance of employees that
directly report to him/her. - Conduct any other duties that may be
assigned to him/her by the Director Finance and Administration.
- The applicant should hold an Honors degree
with bias in Accounting or Financing or equivalent. - Professional accounting qualifications in
CPA, ACCA, or CIMA is a must. - A minimum of five years; working
experience in managing/administering accounts of an organization, of which
3 years must have been at senior level in the financial services sector. - Highly computer literate with good command
of accounting packages and Spreadsheet. - Strong leadership skills.
- Possess the ability to work under tight
deadlines. - High degree of creativity and
innovativeness . - Excellent analytical and financial skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- High degree of Accountability.
