Hilfe e. V (AAH) and was registered in Munich, Germany from where our founders
in 2003 moved the organisation’s headquarters to Kenya. AAH-I now works with
refugees, host communities and other marginalized and vulnerable groups in
Kenya, Uganda, Somalia and South Sudan, where it operates across a range of
sectors that seek to bridge relief to development.
Job Summary: The Workshop Supervisor will manage and motivate
the mechanics and administration team to ensure excellent standards of
maintenance of our mixed fleet of vehicles and implement changes to ensure the
success of the mechanical workshop in meeting customer’s needs in line with AAH
Uganda’s and donor guidelines.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
 
  • Actively participate in brainstorming
    sessions with the project management team in concept paper and proposal
    development for expansion of Adjumani project operations and activities in
    line with AAH Uganda and donor guidelines.
  • Coordinate programme meetings; prepare
    minutes and reports on programme management in line with AAH Uganda’s
    project monitoring guidelines.
  • Build and maintain working relationships
    with key stakeholders and partners in support the program, in line with
    AAH Uganda and donor guidelines.
  • Actively monitor and report the progress
    of the workshop operations and indicators, and contribute to processes to
    measure, learn from and improve impact in line with AAH-I Monitoring &
    Evaluation guidelines.
  • Prepare correspondences, agenda, minutes,
    event programs, bulletins, success stories in compliance with established
    AAH Uganda guidelines.
  • Responsible for all aspects of day to day
    people management within the team including coaching, mentoring, change
    management, training, performance management, absence, and discipline in
    line with AAH-I Human Resource policies.
  • Works closely with the others to plan and
    oversee  the maintenance of all
    company and stakeholders vehicles, ensuring service and inspection
    intervals are adhered to.
  • Ensure the team adheres to the Health and
    Safety at Work Act and any other employees entering the workshop conform
    to the legislation in line with national safety standards.
  • Prepare and develop project budgets in
    line with AAH Uganda and donor guidelines.
  • Monitor and maintain the stock system and
    ensure that any ordered parts are the best value for money and are readily
    available i.e. stock levels for vehicle spare parts and fuel are not above
    or below the pre-agreed limits.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the
    supervisor from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The ideal candidate should preferably hold
    a Degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Community Psychology,
    Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification from a recognised
    institution. Possession of a Post Graduate Diploma in Project Planning and
    Management
  • A minimum of three or more years’
    experience in similar or higher position. 
  • Demonstrated good communication skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of health and
    safety rules/laws
  • Highly proactive approach
  • Skills in Change Management
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Time Management skills – Ability to
    organise and plan workloads
  • People Management – Ability to coach,
    mentor and drive through success
