Job Summary:  The
Programme Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the effective management
of the Youth Employment and Local Governance (YELG) projects under our
livelihoods programme in Northern Uganda.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Managing implementation of the YELG
    project including development of detailed work plans, activity implementation,
    coordination, and reporting.
  • Actively monitoring progress against
    targets and provide appropriate and timely updates to key stakeholders
    while ensuring appropriate reporting is in place.
  • Technically support in the effective
    planning and monitoring of donor grants allocated to the YELG project
    ensuring VSO’s financial and procurement requirements are adhered to by
    the project.
  • Compile and maintain a risks and issues
    log at project level.
  • Effectively line manage the VSO Project
    Officers
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The Programme Coordinator should have at
    least three years of relevant experience in livelihood/enterprise
    development projects
  • The incumbent should also hold a good
    Bachelor’s degree in Development studies, Business Administration/Management,
    Agriculture or any other relevant area. Possession of a Post Graduate
    training in Project Management is desired
  • Previous working experience of
    co-ordinating, planning and reporting systems;
  • Prior experience of managing project budgets.
  • Strong organisation and time management
    skills.
  • Experience of working with, and
    understanding the challenges faced by young people in northern Uganda.
  • Skills in Monitoring and Evaluation with
    experience of managing challenging and successful projects will be of
    added advantage
  • Possess the ability to ride a motorcycle
    with valid license
