Social Development is one of the oldest In-Service Training Institutes in
Uganda. The Institute is implementing a
project in Nakivale Refugee Settlement.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- The
incumbent will be sensitizing the Public on Environmental Conservation
Policies, Laws and Regulations; - Supporting
Community Initiatives for the Renewal and Sustainable use of the Natural
Environment; - Tree Planting and Management
- Promotion of Energy Saving Technologies
- Technically
support the Environmental Conservation Related Activities - Actively
monitoring and supervising activities relating to the Environment within
the Settlements. - Enforcing
Implementation of the Community and District Environmental Action Plans. - In
charge of identifying Opportunities and Constraints to Optimal use of
Wetland Resources; - Compiling
Reports on Environment Degradation and good Practices.
Qualifications, Skills and
Experience: The ideal candidate for the Environmental Officer should hold an
Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Botany, Forestry, Environmental Management Studies
or any other relevant field from a recognized Institution.
