Job Summary: The Database Administrator will be responsible for
writing, developing or modifying business systems/databases to ensure data,
queries and reports can be captured, managed and maintained easily and
accurately.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Administer, test and implement new or
    modified systems/
  • Actively monitor performance and control
    access permissions and privileges.
  • Document and monitor operational, security
    and maintenance procedures and contribute to reviews as appropriate in
    order that continuity of service provision is maintained.
  • Ensure data security, storage, archiving,
    backup recovery procedures are functioning correctly.
  • Enforce database security measures.
  • Maintain a register of all critical and
    sensitive storage backup media showing the times, dates and users who have
    requested such media from the storage area.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 
  • The candidates for the Database
    Administrator  should hold a
    Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in any other related course.
  • Hold professional qualifications i.e.
    MCDBA, Microsoft SQL Server Certification, SQL, DBA and Knowledge of any
    other DBMS like Oracle, MySQL etc.
  • A minimum of two or more years’ working
    experience in related field
  • Good Grades in Mathematics at A ‘Level
    (Either A, B or C).
  • Possess good customer awareness and
    emotional intelligence skills
  • The ideal candidate should maintain
    confidentiality, have Self- drive and confidence, be Proactive
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication
    skills.
  • Possess business acumen
  • Excellent public relation skills
  • Ability to multi-tasking
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication
    skills
  • Good at goal setting and quality control.
  • She/she should also be computer literate
  • Possess the ability to coach & mentor
  • Skilled in change management
  • Possess emotional intelligence and
    advocacy skills
